Hey... is that light at the end of the tunnel????

Well, it's that time again. I want to do a "project" or activity with my girls each week leading up to my husband coming home to get them a little excited about his homecoming and to have some things to give him to make him feel important. Any ideas? I know a lot of you are VERY crafty - so please send ideas my way! Thanks!

Make a paper chain out or red white and blue paper. My kids love making them for Christmas but now it is not like it would cover your entire house. It would be doable. Add a few extras in case they get home a little later. And as it gets closer if you need to rip off a few you can. Then right before they go to bed let them rip off one link and they know it is one more day closer till he gets home.

for sure the paper chains....we did that leading to getting out of the Navy and the kids loved it.

you mentioned that he is coming home early? am I right? whats the reasoning?

they could make and decorate some sugar cookies for their dad. these can be frozen till the big day. they can also make a welcome mat out of a carpet sample, stamped with paint.

Jaesi...he's not coming home early. I guess I confused some people. The Ike family support group just had the half way parties well over the half way mark. Maybe they were all anticipating the guys to come home later than expected.

Keep the great ideas coming... I love 'em all! Thanks!

What about decorating fun shirts for the girls to wear the day he returns and a matching shirt for him?
